TCD-70T - RECOMMENDED!

"Stereo i Kolorowo" about our CD player:

"The player is characterized by a resolved, full and lively sound with refined accuracy and perceptible structural saturation. It is characterized by sound with a distinct tonal depth, tangible substance and transparent image of recordings. It is a balanced, flexible and clean sound - and although emotionally rather calm, it is capable of showing the volume and strength of low frequencies. And also to freely reveal the range of tonal expression.

Here, coherence, smoothness and fluidity dominate, while high energy is relegated to the background. Dynamics is correct, but neither overly live nor too expansive. It is optimally placed between the universe of sound purity, its clarity and naturalness. It is 100% analog sound. Organic and universal. Every musical genre sounds very good, or at least good (and even material worse realized in the studio recording!).

The midrange is effective, colorful and saturated. Smooth, full and warm. But it also slightly thickens and brings human voices closer, which makes listening to vocals in particular very satisfying. It arranges the message into an orderly image full of color, shapes and life. Abundant in musical tissue and filling. The midrange is intense, suggestive and authentic - well set on a dense, active and springy bass. The bass has optimal strength and high power, but it does not dominate or overwhelm (although it is always present!). It is an equal component of the other sound bands.

In turn, the upper part of the band is slightly softened - this is not a simple withdrawal, but a softening of the attack. Minimization of sibilants and reduction of the attack of the treble. Yes, it gives a sense of pleasant softness and roundness, but the detail suffers a bit. A deeper analysis of the recordings is quite moderate. Standard. However, completely sufficient. It is really hard to find fault with anything, looking at the not excessive price of the player in question.

The output through the tube buffer (i.e. the one implemented via RCA sockets) is more deeply saturated in relation to the sound, tonally denser and slightly sweetly colored (but by no means overly sweet!) than the one bypassing it (i.e. output to XLR). The tone is deeper, and the colors are darker. The sound is rounder, as if smoother. These are not big differences, but clearly noticeable.

However, the XLR output (bypassing the tube buffer) is slightly more accurate, with greater spatial differentiation and more details. The sound is less soft, but more precise. And somehow faster. The ability to choose an output with or without tubes (RCA vs. XLR) is an undoubted advantage of the TCD-70T player and extends its functionality. Very good solution.

Conclusion
I must honestly admit that the CD tube player appealed to me very much - it impressed me above all with its lively sound, which is flexible, credible and harmonious. Rich in colors, dense and saturated, but not too much. Exactly as needed. This sound is slightly rounded and warmed, but very pleasant to listen to. Natural. The recordings are presented very convincingly and realistically - in a complete, systematic, universal way. The message has the appropriate depth, image and saturation. It is flexible and analog. Real. I sincerely recommend Taga Harmony TCD-70T, because this player plays real music!
