TSW-212 SE awarded!
TSW-212 SE awarded BEST BUY by "hifi class"
"Massive, expansive, flexible, colorful and low-extended bass"
Sound quality
It operates with a warm, quite soft and colorful bass. It is the color and flexibility of the low tones that are most captivating in its presentation. The bass is more relaxed than ruthlessly attacking, but the TSW-212 SE does not suffer from a lack of dynamics. The sound energy simply spreads over a wide spectrum in a slightly milder style. The clearly marked reverbs are motoric, but they are not abruptly cut off, as is the case with subwoofers at a similar price equipped with class D amplifiers and closed enclosures.
In the multi-channel playback, TAGA Harmony is fully engaged in the reproduction of the low tone band. The organ parts from Pink Floyd's "The Endless River" on the Blu-ray disc were played with a flourish that one would expect from much more expensive subwoofers. The low-frequency range again made itself known with expansive, soft, and at the same time well-controlled reverberations, which only intensified certain features of the sound of organs or other instruments operating in the bass range.
In the film playback, the bass offered a similar aesthetic, but also with a more clearly "boosted" mass of low tones, which was particularly audible during the screening of the film "First Man" and the launch of the Saturn V rocket with the Apollo 11 mission - the TSW-212 SE coped very well with reproducing the powerful roar of rocket engines, while offering decent sound control.
Summary
The TSW-212 SE will work well where we want to extract a strong and clear bass with a large mass. This is an efficiently functioning active subwoofer, offering flexible, soft and expansive bass, which with its presence will make the reception of multi-channel music tracks more attractive and will build a solid foundation for special effects in action movies.
