Platinum B-40 v.4 "High performance monitors at a very competitive price."

Spanish “ET SONA HIFI & MUSICA” reviews our PLATINUM B-40 v.4 bookshelf speakers (07-2024).

Conclusions
I am still trying to understand how a pair of speakers with so much presence and good sound continually go unnoticed in the recommendations that are commonly read in forums or social networks.
Usually you read the same recommendations when someone mentions that they want a pair of monitors in a certain price range, say >€600.
I have rarely found reference to TAGA's and, even worse, if the user in question asks if the bass will be enough with the monitors, people recommend a subwoofer with such ease that it is surprising. I ask myself, has nobody listened to these TAGA's?

For anyone looking for monitors in the sub-€600 price range (the price of the TAGA Harmony Platinum B40 v.4, at the time of the review is €510) and enjoys powerful and responsive bass, I have no choice but to recommend these speakers. It's important to at least consider them as I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
The Platinum is not a one-act show. While their bass is surprising in terms of spaciousness, presence and response, the overall behavior of the monitors is quite good, with excellent stage and presentation, passing through good definition in the mids and important clarity in the treble.

The build quality is also remarkable, with materials of good workmanship and solidity. I can't imagine what people would pay if, instead of TAGA, the speakers came from another company and that, primarily, is the problem. The idea that, if it carries a certain acronym or signature, the speaker is automatically good or it is not. Worse still, to think that a loudspeaker is not HiFi (or any other analogue term) because it has no ‘pedigree’ is simply nonsense. Let's do ourselves a favor, let's not be the kind of people who dismiss options only by looking at brands. We must give ourselves the opportunity to get to know a bit of everything. That's the way to discover excellent products like these speakers.

In my opinion, focusing on what I consider to be the TAGA's strong point, the bass, there is no speaker in its price range (and size) that can match it. You have to multiply the cost or volume several times to get close. Considering the above, plus their performance in the other areas of interest to the review, I would say that these are speakers whose cost does not reflect their quality at all. A curious thing, since we often find the opposite case, in which the price of a loudspeaker is, objectively, either very tight or disproportionate to its performance.
But, I insist, it is not necessary that you believe me and subscribe to what I say, it would be interesting if you were willing to listen to them yourselves, form an opinion and, afterwards, we can talk about what you think of the TAGA. I, for the time being, continue to enjoy the Platinum at home, which will stay here for a long time.
